Sleep is a problem at the moment as there’s a lot going on (mostly in my head)
and have taken to regular pre-dawn wanderings. (If I’m awake may as well do something).
As I’m considering adopting Truro as my new home for a little while it has to tick all the boxes. Things already looking on the up is its small size, it reminds me of Bristol a lot (big plus!) and the local services are good, but it would be an absolute nightmare not to have at least a few tidy countryside walks to enjoy for those rare occasions when its not raining in UK.
To save a lot of random strolling around I used the same surprisingly useful Google maps (satellite view) that help me track down urban wild camping spots and below are some of the pictures from the place I walked through this morning.
Had a bit of trouble trying to get onto this path in the beginning as the public footpath sign was difficult to see in the dark. This is far from a dry path with pools of mud in places. After dragging myself across miles of boggy coast path I hardly noticed the odd bit of mud now 🙂
There’s a fair bit of woodland around Truro although most of it doesn’t look that accessible (I’ll get in there eventually!). The bits that I’ve walked in so far are nice enough and seem to be my favorite unmanaged type of woodland.
