In the mood to add another old fort to my list of camped places, I headed out Friday evening for a quick night out at Castle an Dinas. Per usual, public transport didn’t get me all the way there, and had to tab down a dangerous (surprisingly) busy lane without any hint of a path to walk on.
After reading on Facebook how well used this spot is for camping, I was happy to get the place to myself. Hung around for a while playing with a portable ham radio (another benefit of camping at altitude!) before turning in for the night.
As usual, slept really well and didn’t wake up until well past 8am in the morning, even though it was raining for a few hours before I opened my eyes (proof, if needed, that I’ll sleep anywhere!).
